Smoke, smoke, smoke. I woke up to cloudy/smoky skies in Whistler this morning and there was a strong smell of forest fire smoke in the air from fires burning in British Columbia. I was planning to do the Whistler Blackcomb Peak to Peak gondola this morning but ended up changing my plans because the air was so smoky.
It’s about a 2 hour drive from Vancouver to Whistler. It took me exactly 13 hours to make the trip today. Why so long? Read on to find out!
Whales, anyone? Fresh seafood? I spent the day surrounded by the Salish Sea on a whale watch, ate fresh Pacific cod overlooking False Creek, and tried a Japanese hot dog on my last day in Vancouver.
Are you afraid of heights? Then you probably wouldn’t have enjoyed today’s outing to the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain. Both included beautiful scenery, but also plenty of acrophobia-inducing moments.
I walked 9 miles today around the city of Vancouver. I hit two major attractions, Granville Island and Stanley Park, as I made one really big loop from my hotel.
I’ve been in Vancouver for exactly seven hours and I love it already! I had been to Victoria on a previous trip, and to eastern British Columbia, but this is my first time in Vancouver. I can already tell that this is my type of city!
Starting off summer vacation with a trip to New York City is becoming something of a tradition for me. Two days was plenty of time to explore the city and see a few of the sights on my list. And of course, enjoy some delicious food while I was there!
3,607 miles. That’s the distance I traveled today between Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and Boston Logan International Airport. I don’t think I will ever not be amazed by air travel. In a little over 6 ½ hours, I went clear across the Atlantic Ocean.
Today found me touring a world-renowned museum, sipping one of Paris’ best hot chocolates, wandering streets and alleys in the Latin Quarter and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, strolling the Luxembourg gardens, and dining at a restaurant that has just one dinner item on the menu. I am a lover of quotes and I read a quote the other day that said, “Live for the moments you can’t put into words”. I had a whole blog post ready for today, but I deleted the entire thing because the pictures of my day at Monet’s gardens in Giverny say more than my words ever could. There are also a few pictures of the town of Giverny, a walk around Paris, and my sunset cruise on the Seine. Enjoy!
