Boston (Summer 2025): Day 3

Day 3 of going into Boston and today I tossed tea into Boston Harbor. Well, not real tea. And not actually into the water. But I reenacted the Boston Tea Party at the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum. I also had a yummy breakfast and drank a flight of cider, all while attempting to survive the high heat and humidity in the city.

Boston (Summer 2025): Day 1

Happy 4th of July! I’ve spent Independence Day everywhere from Yosemite National Park to Dublin, Ireland to the Outer Hebrides in Scotland to Munich, Germany to Denali National Park, but this year I’ll be spending it in one of the most historic cities in the U.S.: Boston, Massachusetts. I’ve done the concert and fireworks on the Esplanade in the past so today will be more of a low-key celebration.

Two Days in Boston, Massachusetts

The Great Staycation of 2023. That’s how I’ve been referring to this weekend in my mind. Now that I have a new baby niece down in Florida, most of my weekend trips have been/will be spent there. But having just been in Florida a few weeks ago, and going back there for Thanksgiving, I needed something to do for the long Veterans Day weekend. Enter the staycation.

London 2016: Day 1

If you know me at all, you know I am not a city person.  I hate the crowds, the noise, the fast pace… pretty much everything about a city.  So it may come as a surprise that I picked London as my vacation destination.  Especially since I was just here last year for a couple of days and spent a week here three years ago.  I know it’s a bit of a contradiction, but as much as I hate cities in general, I love London.  I think it’s the combination of history (I’m not a history person either, so another contradiction…), music, and culture that continues to draw me back.  The British scones certainly have a bit of pull as well!

Turks and Caicos 2016 – Day 1

Paradise. That’s the only word that comes to mind to describe Turks and Caicos. Warm weather, sun, and sand. Exactly what this trip is all about. This is my third visit to TCI, and a week of relaxation, sun, and reading is just what I need. I have thought about visiting other islands (Grand Cayman was a top contender for this trip), but in the end, I love Grace Bay Beach (the main “resort” beach in Providenciales) and the familiarity of visiting a place I love.
