Today’s post will be short and sweet because I didn’t really do too much. I decided at the beginning of my vacation that this would be a “no rules” trip – I would see and do what I felt like doing and not feel pressure to do things if I wasn’t interested or didn’t feel like it. So after my float trip this morning when I felt like coming back to my hotel room and doing nothing for the afternoon, that is exactly what I did.

In my defense, the weather today hasn’t been great for sightseeing. It was raining when I set out for breakfast at the Bunnery around 7:45AM. Sadly, their outdoor patio was closed and I was forced to consume my enormous breakfast sandwich on a homemade croissant in the cute dining room instead. The homemade croissant was amazing – light, flaky layers of buttery goodness filled with eggs, ham, and cheese. Despite the size of the croissant, the eggs and ham still hung over the side. I opted to eat it with a knife and fork instead of picking it up. I can see why the restaurant gets such rave reviews for its breakfasts!
On my last trip to Jackson Hole, I took a float trip down the Snake River through the national park, and decided I wanted to do that again. We met in Moose for the short van ride to Deadman’s Bar, where the float trips set out. Once we were all outfitted with our life jackets, we boarded the rubber sided float for our 10-mile trip downriver. The clouds obscured the Tetons quite a bit, so instead of snapping pictures I spent most of the trip just enjoying the scenery. We only spotted three animals (besides birds, ducks, and geese) along the way: two bald eagles and a deer. The ride was relaxing and by the end of the trip, there was even some blue sky!

I came back to my hotel for the afternoon, caught up on some YouTube videos, Skyped with my parents in Florida, and just relaxed. Dinner tonight was at Hand Fire Pizza, a local favorite housed in the converted Teton Theater. I opted to create my own pizza with prosciutto and basil. The tasty combination of the salty prosciutto and sweet basil is one of my favorites. Of course, I needed to finish the night off with a scoop of chocolate toffee crunch ice cream from another local favorite, Moo’s.
